Really looking forward to it. Thank you CB4 for keeping the thread alive so to speak. I'd recently purchased a Warbonnet Edge Tarp but noticed a defect in it during it's first outing. Sending it back tomorrow for a replacement and hoping I get it before our Hang. Shouldn't be a problem but you know how that goes.

Doesn't look like we're going to get much help on the rain but it'll definitely be cooler! I'm planning on hiking as much of the park as I can on Sunday since it'll be my first time there; I'd like to see as much of it as possible.

You bet! It'll be a bit of a bummer if the fire ban is still in place, but I'll be ok with it as long as it's cooler!

The Wilderness trail is really nice. If you hike the rest of the loop from where we are, it'll be a good hike. Lot's of different terrains, views, POI's, etc.

I don't think we'll have to worry about cooler; I think it'll be good but I do think it'll still be dry which means' the leaves will be falling early but they'll be awfully brown. Oaks are already starting to drop their leaves but there hasn't/may not be any color.

So I don't think we'll see the fire ban lifted but since we're starting out at 10:00 am and only going a short distance, we'll have lots of time in camp that afternoon to get to know each other and learn from each other's setup. In the morning I'll take my sweet time hitting the trail and enjoy that cup of coffee; but after that I plan on doing the max route.

CB4, have you ever fished the river in the park? I've actually bought a 3 piece rod to backpack with when I go to the Irish Wilderness this fall. I've heard the river has smallmouth....

I dont fish much, but my wife's brothers fish quite a bit right there and have pretty good luck with ( I think ) smallmouth, perch, and bluegill.

hey guys this is the first post ive made in quite a while and just hopped on here to check out the upcomming hangs since ive been unable to do about anything for well over 5 months "due to injury and health problems" but since this is litterly in my back yard "6 miles away" i might be able to make this one i just have to replace all the gear ive sold to make bills while ive been off. so my cousin and i are very interested in going if we can get out gear set up again.
