Don't be sorry dude. You didn't do anything wrong... in fact sharing information with everyone was really cool of you.

I've learned stuff like this happens and I suppose "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." Stuff happens. In the end, I hope it does help some people out as that was the original videos purpose.

Not to.negate the awesomeness of.the design... Just something to think about... In certain situations your bug net may be on the ground, or in the grass... Which allows things to crawl, water to creep, and mud to get on your bug net... Just an observation that some people may want to be aware of...

Constructive criticism is always appreciated and that's a good point. I'm sure some people could "rig" it to work if they had to go to ground. However, a zipper or integrated bug net would be much better in that situation as it does give the full coverage needed when going to ground.

That's a good idea for a video if people are interested. "How to go to ground in a hammock.

Thanks Pips, it looked like organza to me. The organza fabric that I bought from JoAnn Fabrics weighed 1.1 oz/sy. It is totally indestructible though. I used it to make an integrated, zippered bugnet on a hammock.

Fronkey, your the man!!! I love your bugnet design. I have one someone else made and love it. I will be making a couple as soon as I can make room in my sewing/exercise room. I think I will need to get rid of the exercise equipment. It doesn't seem to get much use anyway.

Good point, this is going to be a limitation of any non-integrated bugnet.

I feel the Fronkey style is much better suited to stay up off the ground though compared to many/all of the currently available cottage manufactured zipper entry designs.

The shock cord bottom on the Fronkey style actually pulls the bottom of the netting up higher than a cottage style side zipper entry.

See 4:10 of this video and the pictures below.

Pardon the grainy picture, I snagged it directly from the video -
    Fronkey style -

Other cottage manufacturer side zipper entry style -

Not to knock the cottage designs, merely pointing out the fact that the Fronkey style is going to be easier to keep off the ground/mud/ground crawlies than a side zipper style.

Yeah mine is limited by the height of it... If i get the hammock low enough to sit in, and the suspension at the 30 degrees then the bugnet is on the ground... And i can't raise it any higher because I will be pulling on the through holes with the hammock and risk tearing it... Different design may have different problems and fronkeys looks good, except where do you put your shoes?
