Thumbs up September 14-16, 2012 Hot Springs Hang

Well, the time has come to once again descend upon the quaint little town of Hot Springs N.C..
The very first group hang that Running Feather and I went to was the semi-annual SEHHA hang, that Ed Speers used to host, back in 2009.
RF & I still talk about the fun we had there and all the great people we met. So, I thought why not bring it back??

I've reserved site 413, the same site that Ed used to reserve. It's a group site that will probably hold up to 15 people. The other sites that people have gotten in the past that are right next to it are, 407,409, & 411. All are still available, so if you plan on coming I'd recommend reserving as soon as possible.

RF will post a link to the previous hangs.

In keeping with tradition, there'll be a Saturday night hot dog roast, we'll put up a spreadsheet for folks to sign up and bring things.

I'm planning on bringing the Ladderball game, and if someone else wants to bring their cornhole game that would be fun.

So, there it is, let's bring back this family friendly, great time in a beautiful place, car camping at it's best group hang!

    We'll see ya'll there!

I'm a "maybe" also. Could be starting life over in a new job in early September. Have to wait and see what happens in next 3 weeks before I'm sure.

I wish I could make this one. I've been wanting to go back to Hot Springs (my wife and I honeymooned there Oct. '08), but I have a 55K trail run on the 16th at 6am and will need to be doing final prep before. Maybe next time.

The campground is located on the east side of the town of Hot Springs on Highway US 25/70 directly across from the Hot Springs Resort and Hot Tubs. The campground is situated on the French Broad River and our campsite is on the rivers' west bank.

For those that have not been to Hot Springs, here are two links to trip reports from previous 'Hangs'. Lottsa pics and some video.

    Thanks for the Links!
I'm in, God willing. Looks like the kayak will come along too.
This one is on my calendar. Fire up those Hot Tubs! http://www.nchotsprings.com/
    I'll see you there...then.

Anyone have a link showing the campgrounds site layout ?

My first group hang was a fall hang there a couple of years ago. Great site with a veiw of the river and a easy walk into town. I would love to attend except I have already asked for time off to go Rev's South Carolina Hang and the Grayson Hang that month.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
