mesh tarp sleeves and pack pocket

I got mesh tarp sleeves and a pack pocket from Mountaingoat for my Maccat Deluxe and backpack. I have never used skins like this before so I wanted to get some advice on first getting the tarp in the sleeves, deployment, and wrap up. I have a continuous ridgeline for my tarp.

I also got a mesh pack pocket. Has anyone used these? I assume I just need to get some shock cord from home depot or wherever to tie it on. Any advice on that would be great too.

    Thanks a lot.

Mrs smiley - correct about the mesh pocket. here's a pic of mine on an old marlboro pack -- using shock cord to attach.

for the tarp sleeves -- start with a sleeve on each end.. when its attached to the trees. I start at one end / corner & roll it up - as you roll pull the mesh sleeve over the tarp - repeat at the other end.

to deploy, attached ridgelines to trees -- then loosen the sleeves -- push sleeves towards the ends and the tarp will roll open - ready to be staked down

    Hope that helps - enjoy!

thanks - I got the tarp sleeves on and messed around with it a bit. After doing it a few times I actually time myself (yeah, I'm nuts) I was able to get the tarp fully set up and staked out in a standard A frame in about 3:45 and I was able to get it completely broken down and put away in about 4:20. Getting the hammock itself hung takes like 2 minutes. So I guess that isn't a bad setup time for someone who hasn't been doing this very long.

Now I just need to get some shock cord to attach my pack pocket.
