Let me know when you are gonna head to the ledges. I know I would definitely be there. There is a fee and what not. I have never camped there before, but have swam in the quarry. Not sure how it is for hammocks, seemed to be a lot of open field camping if I remember correctly. Things can get a little weird at the ledges from my understanding.Originally Posted by HamMike

I don't think I would camp at the quarry as it is so close to my house, and I am more of a backpacker. great swimming (quarry) and a really fun day hike (state park). things can get wierd at the quarry. they have alot of concerts there, and you get some people using psychadelic drugs...
anyway. i wish there were more camping opportunites on the buckeye trail. it'd be nice to have someplace to backpack so close (or far if you fancy) to home.
thanks for the info on moraine. I want to take my brother-in-law backpacking, but I don't want to kill him or drive super far. moraine might work out for that. probably just end up in shawnee though.
