Byers Easy Traveller - added length...

While redoing the suspension on my Amazonas, it occurred to me that, because of their deeply scalloped ends, I could add rope extensions to each of the 5 fingers. Using paracord loops I've increased the effective length of the hammock from 84" to 108".

Paracord is usually made of nylon which stretches. You might be better off using Amsteel.

Other than that you have a great idea.

And remember....pictures or it didn't happen.

Then again, if you are loading 200lb of body weight across 10 fingers =10lb per finger / cord of paracord rated at 550lb, there probably isn't going to be much stretch.

So, don't make this is so difficult that it doesn't get done. Introducing Amsteel will make it more expensive and have you stumped about how to join it. Splices? Oh, what a lot of trouble for an experiment, compared to knots in the paracord.
