Trouble using a bishop bag...

Typically I use two taut-line hitches for connecting both ends of my CRL (550 paracord). I also use two prusiks on both ends (1.9 tech), which hold my tarp taut via 2 mini-biners... Thats the rig (profly, ENO SN, whoopie all-in-one with 6ft webbing, guardian BN).

My issue lies in the fact that once I hook up one end with the first taut-line hitch and then begin to string up the other end of the bishop bag (ready to deploy the tarp), the weight of the tarp causes my CRL to sag

In addition, if I don't use the taut-line hitches on both ends, I don't get that nice "V" for my hammock suspension to pass through...

Is there another knot I can use that produce that "V" AND will that different knot hold up until I get the 2nd end secure? I wanna use this bishop bag bc I know it will eventually be faster and prevent setup of my rain tarp easier in a high-wind environment. Currently, I haven't been using the bishop bag deployment and have just been stringing up my CRL first, then tossing the tarp over, securing it taut, then hooking up the hammock/BN last, which only takes just under 8 minutes altogether... I wanna shave off more time using the bishop bag rig, but unsure of how to resolve the issue I laid out

Also (forgot to add this detail), I know how the taut-line works in case you were wondering... Its just that it slips when the CRL is sagging all the way to the ground once the bishop bag w/tarp is bouncing around while I try and secure the 2nd anchor point...

Before worrying about anything else, I'd replace the paracord with a less-stretchy cordage.

I'm struggling with this too. Another question is whether you bunch the tarp in the middle (moving the prussiks) when loading and unloading. What I'd like to do is load the bag while the crl is strung.

I really like it though, plus I have the 1.9 tech line which needs to be smaller in diameter for it to bite. Lets assume the para doesn't stretch for giggles. What is your next suggestion then?

Btw toddhunter, how do you like the ENO hotspot? I have the SN and wouldve bought it back in March had it been for sale, but it wasnt on the market yet. I got the New River UQ instead. Love it!

I haven't used the Hotspot yet, but it looks like it will work out. The wings are thinner than the ccf I'll be using, but that may be good. I didn't really like the way ccf pads molded on their own.

Try using a farrimond hitch. Very easy to tie and 1 pull frees up the whole system

Here is what I do. I tie a slippery half hitch around on tree. On the other tree, I use a truckers hitch which you make a loop in your line, thread your tag end thru the loop, tighten up the line and finish off your tag end with a slippery half hitch to cinch off the line.
