Last minute superior hiking trail trip

Its been too long since I've gone backpacking and I've got August 1-3 free. All are welcome to come and I'm game for carpooling if you'd like to join me. As of now I don't have anything set in stone for where I want to hike. Just let me now if you'd like to hang

My favorite section is Beaver bay to Gooseberry a nice 2 night hike

so far the group is just two people and a possible third.

we will be hiking from caribou river wayside to oberg mt. Should be a lot of fun! everyone is still welcome to come

Okay well there are three of us going now and I've got room for one more in my truck if someone else wants to come with and carpool

How was the trip? Was a goog hang had by all? Perhaps we should try and get people together for a hang somewhere near the cities and see what kind of turn out we get. My schedule is always extremely busy, but I'm sure I could find time. I'm newer to the hammock and would love to check out what setups people are using and compare notes regarding DIY gear.

Is this the first trip report for HF, from the SHT since the floods hit the area?

How did it look? Bridges still gone I'd imagine?

Sorry for the late reply....I'm still planning on posting pictures and a trip report, but it was a fantastic trip!

The section of trail we hiked was not affected by the flooding. Since the flooding it's been really dry up there and a lot of the water sources were either dry or low. But we had a great time hiking from Finland rec center south to beaver bay and then biking back! We met some really great folks on the trail and even got to go for a swim with them at bear lake! Cryothewild from the forums was one of the people in our group and he did an insane hang on the edge of the cliff on top of sawmill dome! I'm reminiscing now and can't wait to get back up there....which unfortunately for me won't be until late October

Looking forward to hearing about your hike. Best of luck and wishing you safe travels on your hike! I must admit I'm a bit jealous...it'll likely be years for me before I can get that much time to hit the trail.
