I have a HH that is set-up in that manner and it works great. The rings or buckles just make it that much easier.

Well, that and not having to thread the strap through the ring buckles each time, too.

Sounds like the ones you found are considerably heavier than the ones most of us use. The Camp Nano is only 28 grams or only about 1 ounce each. Not enough weight penalty for the convenience for most of us.

Those must have recently become available. Saw them awhile back and they were not ready for shipping.

hey everyone, someone just posted a thread about the new fig 9's, then someone commented on how it would be nice if they were strong enough to be used for a suspension system, and it got me thinking about how beefy they look compared to their weight rating, and i figured they were probably alot stronger than listed, so

i tried it, and it held, i even bounced moderately (would have bounced hard, but i don't want to collapse the celing in my garage). i'll have to ask my fiancee to look and see if it flexes when i bounce, i couldn't see any flex from the hammock.

this is the old fig. 9 rated to 150# and weighing 29 grams.

i used a slightly different wrap than is directed to create more holding power on the line. i definately think a covered line would be best due to those sharp teeth.

looks like maybe there's another option here.

no visible flex during moderate bouncing, which tells me it's probably nowhere close to breaking.
