I just got 4 from summithut.com
No, I think you're still in the shallow end. summithut lists each ring a 0.4 oz, which seems about right to me. I was in such a hurry to put my rings on my hammock that I never did weigh them. Guess I'm kicked out of the gram weenie club!

Thanks for the replies.
Eay, I just ordered 4 from Summithut also. They have them listed at 0.4oz
Thanks again for the help.
Now I just need to find some spectra to connect it all with, some figure 9s for the tarp, and I'll be good to go. I am using canoe and kayak tie down straps for the webbing, they are 1000lb breaking strength rated. All kinds of lengths and colors.

My SMC rings just arrived from SummitHut. I took off the stock HH tarp, tied the rings to the HH suspension line with anchor bends and went out and strung it up. I used Black Diamond OZ 'biners on the straps. Bada bing! I had my HH Explorer Deluxe up in no time! Well, maybe just a bit longer than that, but not much. I bounced around a bit (230lbs so it doesn't take much bouncing )but experienced no slippage, even without the backup half hitch.
I'll keep the HH lines on for a while, until I've got a few hangs under me, before I'll work up the nerve to cut them off. But the way it looks now, I can't believe this setup won't work long term.
I've got the hammock, 2 12' straps and the stock HH line all in the bag that the hammock came in. I'll keep the snakeskins, and maybe use them for the JRB 10x11 tarp I hope to get soon.
Thanks for all the help in this great thread.

Wow, 4 days of evening browsing to get all the way through all 703 posts! I've done the bridge hammock thread several months ago.
Instead of a thru-hike it's been a thru-read! Good thing I have lot's of beer!
you can get welded d-rings lots of places online. i purchased some tri-rings to include with my adjustable webbing suspension option, i had to buy a whole bunch though. d-rings themselves are pretty common online, just google "welded d-ring". try using them with the adjustable webbing running over the flat part.
warbonnetguy, I like the idea of triangles. Can you identify where you got them? All I could find was a listing on Green Boat Stuff for ones of stainless steel and $8.75 each: http://www.greenboatstuff.com/wiststtrri.html
Just a guess, but I know he likes OWF so try these: Tri Rings: Welded Nickel Plated.
Trust nobody!
