Yes. I discovered that last night with my BlackBird.

Are they a lot lighter than the SMC rings? Thanks for the answer above, btw.

I can't quantify how much lighter (just got the BB yesterday), but they are slightly lighter and much more compact. Each triangle side is 1" ID.

My drop occurred about 2 weeks ago after a month of no problems; got a little cocky so I got dropped on my butt!

Safety knot is always there now!

I got lucky and found out while doing the initial 'bounce test' for a new suspension. Only one end slipped and started the 'slow descent', so I immediately stood up and tied half-hitches on each end.

Thanks for the answers. Good to know and I'm hoping your respective posteriors have recovered by now.

I like to think of it as 'ego fluffing'! Kind of like restoring a flat pillow...just give it a thorough shake and good as new.

That sounds much better. Kind of like 'gear making' vs 'sewing'.

The first time I sat in the BB, the head end quickly dropped about 2". I have not had it drop since then, after I carefully make sure things are cinched nice and neat and tight. But I add the safety knot anyway, except a couple of times I forgot. But no drops since the first one.
