Where have all the strap options gone?

So I’m piecing together my setup and am pretty set on using lightweight straps. I like the notion of being reasonable lightweight and there’s something about tying knots that’s also appealing.

Though I’ve never hung I know straightening out my bunching straps would drive me nuts. Sooooo I’ve narrowed it down to Kevlar or Jeff Myers’ hybrid straps.

PROBLEM IS, Dutchware does not seem to have Kevlar for some time and Jeff Myers eBay and Etsy site have been down. Anyone have ideas for plan C or should I just wait it out?

Use old bunching straps, and don’t worry about straightening them out as much as before…it’s only temporary until you can get new straps that you want. Outside of straightening bunching straps where they go around your tree, you can skip the rest of straightening, or at least not be concerned as before.
I could be wrong, maybe someone else will post more information.

Worrying about straightening straps tells me that we have everything mostly figured out. It really isn’t that big a deal nor necessary.

A couple of years back I got kevlar straps from Autumn Ultralight, but I think she may have discontinued them. Whether she's got some old stock still in inventory, I don't know but you might ask her. She has a presence here on the forum. As for Jeff Meyers, he has an Instagram page and you might be able to DM him there. I'm not sure anybody still offers kevlar straps so if it were me, I'd go the Jeff Meyers route. I don't own a set of his straps but I've seen them used by people I hike with and they look like a very good lightweight setup.

I'd wait it out for now as Phantom suggests and get the Myers straps when he's back online. They really are IMO the next-best alternative to Kevlar.

The ideal 3.3g/ft (10g/m) Kevlar seems to be gone forever and I treat the 2 pairs that I have like the precious items they are.

Not a bad substitute at 5.5g/ft are the Dutch spider poly straps which don't stretch, don't bunch and hold knots really well. If you're using 2x 10ft straps that's roughly a 44g (1.55oz) increase over Kevlar, which isn't too bad in the big picture, even for a gram weenie. Unless you've got a super-dialed kit and are carrying a 28 liter pack and aiming for the Nth degree, that shouldn't break the deal.

Anne Marie of Autumn Ultralight has some lightweight straps. Recently she changed the name of her business, don’t remember exact new name, but it’s similar.

    Have you considered spider/poly straps?
Not quite as light but more durable, dont have to worry about sunlight weakening them.

Another upvote/mention for the DutchWare spider/poly straps. Nearly similar in weight to kevlar, and perform great.

    It's now "Autumn Outdoor Gear".
