I'm kinda new to DIY, one of those guys that never thought he could sew until he started sewing. I ran a couple of test seams on a tent footprint, and thene away I went with a down topquilt. I just thought I'd post my latest project to encourage those of us who are intimidated by a sewing machine. It's really nothing magical, just putting thread into fabric. If you haven't and want to try, check out craigslist and buy a used machine and just give it a shot. You might find out, like me, that it's easier than you expected.
Here's the finished quilt, 2.5" of loft, 15-20 degree rating:

And this is my favorite DIY project, 8 weeks and 6 days in the making. This will be my first of this kind.
