this is pretty much what I've got - I got a prusik on my tarp-end ridge tie outs and I hang the individual tarp suspension lines to the tree and then push the prusik to the tree (away from the tarp) this tensions the tarp and lets me center the tarp over the hammock. similar to what raiffnuke is showing un the diagram, but without the continuous line connecting the two trees, just two short live on either end of the tarp

I use a CRL with 9's on each end. Wrap around trees and 9 'em, then adjust prusiks to center and tighten the tarp.

Try this link using Dutch's Stringerz. You can use a shorter line by running the zing-it through the hammock suspension connection with the tree straps versus running around the tree.
Rockdawg, I know what the Dutch Stringerz are (have 2 sets) just not seeing what you are talking about

Personally, I don't like attaching my tarp to my hammock suspension. I think that it changes the lay of the hammock. However, Hennessy has done it this way for many years.

I like a 30' continuous ridgeline of Zing-it 1.75mm running over the tarp. The tarp is permanently attached to the ridgeline with Klemheist knots. On one end of the RL is a Dutch hook in a fixed eye. On the other end of the RL is another Klemheist knot with another Dutch hook in the loop.

I made myself a 30 ridgeline out of 1.75mm, put a WSling in each end, through 'biners. For tarp tie outs, I really like the tautline hitch, benefits of the prusik but you tie off the end with it.

So far I've only had a ridge line of between 12 and 18 feet and I've made a continuous one out of 550 cord (that is all I have right now). I used a biner on one end and a figure 9 on the other and get it pretty tight.

It works well but I think it will evolve to use a smaller diameter cord and may not be continuous, just cordage on each end, one fixed with biner and the other with figure 9 to tighten.

The 4 corners tie out nicely with the stock cords that are slide adjustable(DD 3x3) and anchor with groundhog stakes. None of it is pretty, but it all works.

I do know this: it has been a continuous evolution so who knows what the setup will be in a year's time.
