    Biiiiiggggg Tarp.

Hey Guys I am wondering if you all can help. I am looking to build a tarp or find a tarp that would cover a setup for my boys. I will post the pic below. If I did my calculations correct I would need 2 12'x7' pieces of Silnylon and 3 11.5'x6' pieces. All of this sewn together . It would be roughly 60' linear feet of Sil. It will be very costly to just even buy this. So I am looking for options. It would roughly cost $182.00 at $9.10.
The poles in the Pictures are 15' apart. I was looking to combined a full tarp with 3 11' ridge lines.

Do you want it for backpacking or just car camping with your boys?

Just car camping. That would be a little heavy and bulky to backpack with. Lol. Thanks for the question of clarification

Why don't you go get a really large blue poly tarp from W-World and cut/hem to the shape you want? That would save you some serious $$.

Should be simple enough (relative term to do with a large poly tarp. It would be much more difficult to do if you have to piece together a bunch of strips of sil.

Well, might advice is to make sure you have plenty of needles, time, and space. Move your machine onto a table in the middle of the room so there is plenty of room for the tarp in front of and behind your machine. Make a curve stencil with some cardboard. Mark the lines with a sharpie including room for your seam allowance, draw, relax, cut, relax, sew one edge at a time, relax, repeat until you are complete.

Lol. Not sure if that increases my ambition level on this project. It will be interesting though.

If it was some one other than you making it, I would say substitute the relaxing with beer!

You will do just fine. Feel free to call me if I can be of any help, technical support, moral support, etc....
