I have been looking at top quilts and has anyone had experience with the Warbonnet 3-season black mamba? Would it also be better than a conventional down sleeping bag?

While I do not own a Black Maba, I have used a down sleeping bag and TQs from other vendors. I find the TQs work to give me better coverage. The hood (found in most sleeping bags) do not offer any coverage and kind of gets in the way. On the other hand if you can not afford a TQ then a sleeping bag will usally work.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
The Mamba is a great bag and has worked wonderfully for me. Can't go wrong there!
