Round VS rectangular, I know I do want a sewn foot box but not sure of the pros and cons of the two. Anyone do one and wish they had done the other.

The only one that I have made so far was rectangular. I like the way it fits my feet. That is the only con I can see for a round foot box, is whether or not your feet fit in it comfortable, or if they would be cramped for space. Of course, YMMV and all that. Just one more note...the quilt that I made the foot box in was not down.
I vote square/rect.
One, it is easier to sew vs. a circle, IMO.
Two, a square is more the shape of two feet side-by-side.
Remember to add a few inches all the way around for seam allowance.
Went with the square, but sewing in the corners was a royal pain! Made me wish I had gone with a round one at that moment. But I’m glad I didn’t, wide open space from side to side now. 50 X 80 X 3 with 14 baffles that has 30 grams down each. Total weight 29 oz.

Thank you Dustb2000, what I did was look at the sizes of the commercially available TQ’s and used the max size of them. Took an old blanket, cut it to that size, then started trimming it down until I had a pattern that felt good. Good luck on your build.

Personally i would allways use a sewn foot box. Looks better too!
I like the omni tape/cord foot box that JRB uses. The quilt is rectangular when undone and can be used as an under quilt if the need arises. This style would not work for a tapered quilt (wide-top narrow bottom mummy shape) designed for top quilt use only. In that design sewn seems the better way to go. Not sure why you'd want snaps or omni tape with a quilt designed that way.
I made my TQ without the sewn footbox.. just a drawcord and snaps. I've found that I tend to unsnap the one snap closest to my knees at some point in the night, but they are pretty wimpy snaps...
And yes, it can be turned into an UQ if need be.
