    FloydFest 11, 2012

Just back from a terrific weekend of music and hanging outside of Floyd, VA. It was my very first FloydFest and it was a dandy. It was great to see dozens and dozens of other hangers out there in the woods with me, despite the grossly improper hangs of their ENOs. Several of my neighbors admired the BB and wanted to know where I got it, how I hung the tarp, what those strange looking buckles (Dutch clips!) were, etc. Friday saw several rain showers and I took in a few wet campers under my BMJ Spinn (Shug's old one!). Trying to explain who and what a Shug is to these folks was a trip. Shug- if you're listening: hope to see you onstage at FloydFest next year!

Oh, and add another hammock convert, too; my buddy took a nap in my backup Traveler and ended up spending the rest of the weekend sleeping in it!

All in all, a great hang in a great venue.

Not at all! Apart from the bouts of rain on Friday, weather was perfect, there was a near constant breeze up on the mountain, and nights were clear enough for shooting stars during each night's main show. Epic is an overused word...but it fit the weather we had.
