Northbound and Southbound on the AT. Most folks seem to be leaning toward the NOBO. I'm hoping to drum up interest in a SOBO.

Thanks Silver! Well I look dumb now. Even though I'm coming from the South, I'll weigh in on your hike southbound to the state park. depends on what we bring for potluck. might dehydrate a mass amount of jumbalaya

You don't necessarily need to dehydrate. Last year I brought my Coleman stove (this is car camping) and cooked a pot of chili. I left the veggies from my garden in a cooler in my car, and they were fine when I got done with my pre-hike. There are stores near Gathland where you can pick up the more perishable items.
