After a few trips you can see clearly what wasn't used and start culling. I found that there was a lot of 'backup' for items that never failed. It helped me get realistic about the risk.

I think this is what I was needing to hear. I'll keep the spares for now, but pay attention to what I use and what never (cough) malfunctions. Thanks for the wise words everyone!
