I believe they are both designed to be use with whoopies. I have the ET's and use them w/o whoopies. I give the elephant trunks two thumbs up. I have no experience with the dutch buckle.
    Good luck,

I think you would be good to go with either one. I have the elephant turnks and really like them. I use them with a Harbor Freight cinch strap I got for $2 a pair on sale. (regular $4) I hook them into the amsteel chainlink (Arrowhead Equip) I have running through the hammock end channel.

My opinion is "can't we have both?"

I use Dutch Buckles and they work fine.

I use both, I have a set on each of my hammocks, and they both work fine.

I use Elephant Trunks and am very happy with them. I do have a much shorter whoopie sling attached to my hammock which allows for fine adjustment of the hang.

Dutch Biner is a much more secure whoopie attachment than either of these just "hang it on a hook or edge" approaches...

Each to their own... They all work...Me, I prefer security with its inherent safety benefits....
