    Practical Backpacking Podcasts

Have you guys seen the PBF podcasts? They're ~1hr long interviews from lots of folks in the backpacking community. I haven't listened to all of them, but there's lots of good info in there. But the real reason for the post is do direct folks to the JRB interview...

For those of you not familiar with podcasts, they're audio files that you download onto your computer or mp3 player. Just click it open and listen to it. I open it on my laptop to play in the background while I'm posting to the forums, making gear, etc.

The PBF forums are pretty good, too. Very strictly on topic and some pretty strict rules if you're into that (and y'all thought I was a topic-nazi), but the info is good.
“Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall when the wise are banished from the public councils because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded because they flatter the people, in order to betray them.” ~Judge Joseph Story

I'm glad the Podcasts are available without joining PBF forum. There are several I've wanted to hear, but my IP seems to be blocked from his forum site

I have listened to PB podcasts as well as Trailcast and I love them both. The Trailcast interview with Gary Schaezlein of Western Mountaineering is my favorite. I just joined Backpacking Light and they have several podcast there also. I can't wait to listen to them. They are like crack to a gear head like me.

FD - the banned IP thing is fixed now. He had a typo in one of his modules and a whole block of IPs were banned by accident. You should be good now.

Jeff, I'm not interested in being a member there - the owner is just too darn controlling for words. However, I am glad the podcast are available to non-members as I'm interested in hearing what some of those folks have to say.

I dropped my membership to PBF because it did not seem that that we had the opportunity to develope a cyber personality. Long-term a Forum needs to be entertaining AND informative.

I still am unable to access the PodCasts.
