Killer deal on the down. A warning though, a sewn through quilt will probably not keep you warm to 0 because of the places where you have sewn & therefore no insulation.

At that price you might want to pick up more pillows for your next project in case this on doesn't meet your expectations. The only additional cost would probably be $5 in mesh, plus extruded time sewing.

Others have posted directions for sewing baffles & I've posted a Google doc spreadsheet to calculate tq dimensions.

Thanks for sharing & let us know how it works for you.

I see what you mean about the baffling! I designed this quilt like the JRB quilt ,with the baffles going side to side instead of long ways like the Yeti. I love my Yeti though! I overstuffed the baffles to make each tube touch the other hopefully closing the stich void !
I have a GG pack so I use a 3/4 thermarest pad as the pack backing as well for a camp chair and also as insulation in my hammock. That pad and my Yeti has taken me to 9* . We will be testing this quilt out this winter ,but Va. Winters don't get very cold that often. Thanks for the tips!

Make & Model of Pillow used in your UQ

Good, glad to hear it works for you. I grew up in Northern VA but in the Piedmont, not the mountains. Some winter camping, but looking back, not enough.

I'm trying to score the deal you got on the pillows. What is the make & model of those pillows?

    Thanks
    Ed

I see what you mean about the baffles! I hope the overstuffing will work! The pillows I got from Kmart they where the superfine goose down pillows they clearance out every year. My Kmart is out but some may still have some? Good luck im searching for more to make a TQ also!
