    First hang

Well I finally had the chance to try hammock camping and I loved it, despite my eno DN covering my face (sides were too floppy), Florida 80 degree weather at night and my Warbonnet Net not fitting the way it was supposed to (pulling the ends of the hammock). Overall I slept more comfortable than sleeping in a tent and I was lucky that bugs were not an issue over the weekend. My Eno pro fly was good, not the greatest coverage, it poured Saturday night and I did not get wet, for the price no complaints there.

Looking into getting a Blackbird 1.7 (don't know if it will be too hot during summer) any recommendations on upgrading my system. I'm 6' 270lb.

I did not like the sides of my eno covering my face giving me a claustrophobic sensation.

    Thanks

Have you tried laying diagnol in the hammock? It way take care of your side flopping issue. Wish I could help with the blackbird but Ive got no expirience with them.

1.7 DL will work for you. You probably have wide shoulders like me, given your dimmensions. I like my WBBB, but feel less shoulder squeeze in my Switchback. I let my friend use my BB last month on our 5 day rafting trip. He's 6' 1" and 175. I don't know if I will ever get it back from him. He loves it.
We are now ready to start our way down the Great Unknown. We are three quarters of a mile in the depth of the earth. We have an unknown distance yet to run, an unknow river yet to explore. What falls there are, we know not; what rocks beset the channel, we know not; what walls rise over the river, we know not. Ah, well! We may conjecture many things. The men talk as cheerfully as ever; jests are bandied about freely this morning; but to me the cheer is somber and the jests are ghastly. Powell 1869

Congrats on your first official hang! Can't help you with the Eno DN having floppy sides, I never had a problem with mine. Others here have and some have even cut that added portion off on both sides right at the seam. I would never do that, but it's all in personal preference. Just make sure you had your "hangle" right and that your laying at an angle.

No experience with the single. As a matter of fact I went wider and longer then the DN. My DN is a loaner hammock now. I like lots of room, and the ability to do somersaults if I want too

Let me try it if he ever brings it back. Lol... probably the shoulders or my weight did not help either.

    Thanks for the input

I tried but was a bit was a bit uncomfortable. the lay was good and the angle was good. just the floppy sides of the extra material was annoying. other than that the eno was Ok.

I have both the eno dbl and the wbbb.. 1.7 dbl and that is my go to hammock for backpacking i do take the eno along on day hikes and such but at times i do have that same problem and for me its an extreme diagnol and then the other side just flops but not inmy face... but for backpacking or camping its my wbbb....until i try a switchback i guess....lol
It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet

On the BB the sides are the sides floppy? How is the breathability of that 1.7 material?
