you might consider signing on to BCUSA, there are a bunch of us in this part of the state and we have a couple campouts coming up that are not exclusive to hannocks, but several of the guys sleep in them.

When I expect wind, I point my feet to the wind and close down the foot end of the tarp. When I have done this I have very little problem with the wind.
    Yep!

I've since had my HH hex tarp modded by 2QZQ so that I've got silnylon doors on either end, with velcro so that I can completely close an end off easily and quickly if the winds or blowing rain/snow pick up.

And I agree with the comments on site selection too. I personally didn't have any issues with the wind, but that's because my tarp was perpendicular to the direction it was coming from, and low to the ground so it wasn't blowing on nor under me.

Looking forward to this hang...matter of fact, Weasel is going to be camping out at Woodridge for the next couple of days, and I might head out there Saturday to hang with him.

Anyone wants to come on out and meet up then...drop a message!

So this past weekend I was out shopping...came across a little frying pan set, and immediately had to pick up two, one for me and one for Weasel.

As soon as I saw these...my first thought was of Walking Bear out last year at the KC winter hang, showing us all up frying up his breakfast both mornings!

This year...I come prepared, egg pan in hand! =-)

If anyone wants a "practice run" a month early, I'm having a gathering out on my property the weekend of Nov 9-11. This will include some folks from BCUSA and maybe a few Beckerheads from BF, but there will be trees... I'll even build an outhouse for the occasion!

Anyone bringing some new gear with them that they didn't have at last year's hang in KC?

I've had 2QZQ mod my tarp so that I've got doors on the ends with velcro to close them off if we see winds like we did last year.

Also thinking about bringing/using my military ICW bag out there this year since it's car camping...more roomy/comfy than my smaller 20deg bag.

    Looking forward to this hang!
