    UQ Warmth Question

So after spending the past few weeks reading every article and watching every video I could on making my own UQ, I decided I'm just not good enough of a seamstress to gamble nearly half the cost of a purchased UQ on making one. Which leaves me with buying one.

As cost is somewhat of a concern, I'd really prefer to buy one UQ and be done. I've been looking at full length UQ's like the Hammock Gear Incubator and the Wilderness Logics Owl. Both are in the sub-$250 price range, which is where I'm wanting to keep things.

My question, after all that, is can an UQ rated well below your normal sleeping temps make you too warm to sleep comfortably? I live in south Florida, and do most of my camping down here, so nights below 40 degrees are few and far between (heck, nights below 80 degrees are pretty rare). As I mentioned, I want to buy one UQ and be good for whatever comes my way, so I was thinking of buying the 20-degree Incubator or the 15-degree Owl, as a "just in case". But if those bags are going to leave me sweating on 50-60 degree nights, would it be better to go with the 40 degree Incubator or the WL Summer series (although I still think I'd prefer a full length quilt, which the summer series isn't) and supplement with some kind of additional insulation on colder nights?

As a final aside, if anyone has any other recommendations for full-length UQ's in that price range, I'm all ears.

    Thanks!

I use a partial underquilt that is 1-1/4" thick throughout Florida except for January in north/central Florida. Only then do I pull out my 20 degree partial underquilt. I don't go outside unless the low is 60 or below.

One option is to leave extra space between the UQ and the hammock. Another option, At those temps, a TQ on top and a cf pad in between the layers of a double hammock would probably be enough.
