It's great to see I'm not the only one already thinking about being out in cooler weather.
I've copied the idea of a shared spreadsheet from people smarter than me and I want to encourage folks to check it out and add your own info as appropriate. (I've taken the liberty of filling in some fields for those who have already posted an interest.)
This will be pound hawg friendly car camping event, although there are some hike in sites for those who prefer that. The venue is great for first timers, veterans, families, and those who appreciate porcelain facilities and running water. It's also a great place for those who may want to paddle, hike, bird watch, or fish. We will be at Fairfield Lake State Park in the Springfield camping area. Reservation of sites is recommended but not necessarily required. Check out the link for more information about the park, fees, rules, and amenities.
As in past years, I'm happy to help simplify things by reserving some sites for those who would like to share in the cost. If you'd like to be included in one of these sites, please note that on the spreadsheet. I'll announce a cut off date for that as we get closer to the hang. (I'll pay for those sites in advance and my collection service will meet with those sharing to reimburse me during the weekend.)
Food planning is usually on the top of most folks question list so here's a few tidbits of info:
My date and I will be hosting breakfast on Saturday morning. We'll have the breakfast taco fixings, you BYO Coffee.
Saturday night we'll have a pot luck dinner with some crazy creative outdoor cooks sharing some good eats.
Other meals are on our own.
Over the next several weeks we can talk about activities and ideas, so start tossing out those suggestions.
I plan on being there then (technically I'm there now too).
As before, I'll set up the coffee mess and keep everyone in Joe.
Firewood may be a problem. Increasingly, authorities are discouraging the importation of firewood, with good reason, and encouraging the use of local wood. Tim, if you can, sniff around and find me a place to buy a rick of seasoned wood. The rangers would be a good place to start. If there is none to be found, I'll bring wood in barrels w/lids, and we'll just be careful to go straight to the fire from the barrel.

I would like to be part of this hang (missed last year) but I might have two more with me that want to join. I'm headed to ask them now. How do I place myself on the spreadsheet?
I've put it on the calendar. Think my wife might join me on this one, so put us down for 2.
