I saw the FB post....how neat! Just last week, I hung at McKinney Falls, but was worried by that other posts about hanging at TXSP and rangers taking exceptions. Guess this means they can't take exception!

Yup, saw the facebook post - very cool. Too bad "I love Texas" reposted it, with the poster and most commenters confused about how they'd get up in the middle of the night to pee...apparently, it's *really* difficult to get up out of a hammock :what:

I have a hard time getting out... But that's just because I don't want to... Too comfy...

Last trip, awoke at 4 AM. Decided to get up to water a tree, and looked REAL forward to snuggling back into the quilts and hammock.

Yah, but at around 4 in the afternoon you can do it pretty quick if I recall correctly

Last trip, I really didn't want to get up in the wee hours (woot, pun!), with it being in the 30s....but. these people were saying they didn't have the coordination to get up....cause crawling off a 6" high air mattress is much easier

And hey UncleMJM, thanks for founding the Texas Hammock Camping Society! Do we need to take down the minutes at the meeting this weekend?

    SIGH!!!!!!

I'm so sad everyone. This poor college student just can't afford the trip down. Breaks my heart. I've been really looking forward to meeting everyone and snuggling down in the warmth and comfort that is the hammock community (and I guess my hammock as well). I've been throwing a temper tantrum in my head all week hoping that conditions would change to allow me to head down today, as planned. But, nope. Haven't bought groceries in 3 weeks, and well...

    Anywho, I'ma stop complaining.

Y'all have an amazing time!!!! I can't wait to see the trip report and look at pictures and see the plans start up for next time.

I put my name into an Amsteel buy, I'll still purchase that. Who should I talk to about mailing that to me?
    InJoy,
    Claire
