    Hiya from Kentucky

    Howdy!
    Smitty here from the Commonwealth of Kentucky. I'm pretty new to hanging but have been tent camping most of my life. I was able to pick up a two-fer-one deal on a couple HH Expeditions during the HH Holiday sale a year or so ago (they were out of Scouts as the freebee) and have had some good nights sleeps so far in 70*-90* temps. I'm looking to do some more Fall/Winter/Spring weather camping in the hammock and this seems the place to be to learn the ropes.

    About Me
    I'm an avid cyclist (mountain, but more road now).
    I work in IT.
    I like DIY solutions using recycled materials (any excuse to drink another beer!)
    I'm a home-brewer (Did I mention beer?).

    Anyways, thanks to everyone for making this community one of the best I've lurked in. Lots and lots of knowledge that will help a noob like me!

    Welcome to the forums from SC.
    I used to homebrew beer and we enjoyed the process as well as the rewards.
    Homebrewing does not leave you much to recycle- plastic bags, left over grains and hops for the garden maybe. Now beer drinking...There is an avocation that feeds the DIY/recycler addiction! Repurposed beer cans, once relieved of their primary responsibility, provide raw materials for cooking pots, drinking containers, pot lids, alcohol stoves, candle lanterns, not to mention the ability to give yourself spectacular and painful cuts while you try to recreate something you saw a kid make on youtube.
    Gotta love it.
    Oh, and a hammock is the perfect base of operations from which to enjoy all the above.
