    Greetings from Maryland,

Although I've lived in Md. for a long time, I've spent a great deal of time in the W.Va and Pa. mountains. I've owned HHs for about 10 yrs. and love them. All of mine are Expeditions; one original non-asym and 2 Asym Expeditions. I also own the HH under pad and cover. Your height and weight and your personal comfort criteria are the important factors. I'm 5', 10 and 185lbs. I find mine quite comfortable with the bottom entry etc. If you're the least bit uncertain, I advise you to call HH. I've done this many times over the years and found them extreemely willing to assist. They'll even add custom modifications. Tom Hennessy himself usually is quite accessible.

After reading a lot of threads on this forum, I was really intreagued with the War Bonnet Black Bird, due to its "foot box" feature. After a lot of thought however, I decided to stick with my HH. Although it doesn't have a foot box, it's very well made, light and compact. Its simplistic zipperless bottom entry is efficient and means there's less to go wrong in a survival situation. Although zippers offer functionality, I wouldn't want mine to snag or fail in a jungle environment. It also has excellent visibility and is extreemely comfortable even without a foot box. Hope this is helpful.
