Hanging in the rain

Well we're getting some much needed rain...and some pretty nice storms!

So like any normal person, I decided to go set up in the rain and hang out for a bit.

A great test for my blackbird and BMJ tarp. I had a few drops leaking around the pullouts since I never sealed them - good reminder to pickup some sealant tomorrow. Also had a hard time with my drip line at the foot end for some reason - I think I'll always use some thicker material like a strip of cotton from an old t-shirt which seemed to do the trick. Man...total relaxation going on there! Oh, and I'll NEVER go without my Zebralight H502 again, it was like setting up in daylight! Well worth an extra 3oz weight penalty which I'll call a backup.

Wow! I just looked up the specs on that light. You could drive home without your headlights!

I didn't really like it at first since it's all flood, but I now realize how nice it is for up-close activites like setting up the hammock. I'll still carry my Zebralight H51 for hiking.
