I just went out back and saw nine in about an hour. A couple of them really crossed the whole sky and left trails. Very nice. Thanks for the tip.

As it has been cloudy and raining all weekend here, I miised it this year. Have a nice little thunder lightening storm going on right now so I took some new ponchos out into the rain to field test.

Set up in my back yard for the views and had to listen to Counting Crows playing live at Magic City Blues Fest. Live in the downtown area and can hear the music when it's turned up and the wind is right.. Have to suffer through Allison Krause tonight.

Clear skies again tonight forecast. Not a bad way to doze off, I guess.

Isn't it odd how the acoustics of Billings work with the Rims and all, SnrMoment? We usually can hear downtown shows at our place.

On topic: I slept under the stars in Red Lodge last night and was treated to a small show of meteors before it got cloudier.

Meteor shower? Been clear as a bell here and 100 degrees for weeks. So of course it was raining.

I've missed most astronomical things here in Kansas because it's only partly cloudy here most of the time.

Was just getting into the car to go to a meteor shower outing at the Howard County Conservancy (they brought in an astrophysicist for the event!) when the skies opened up. The event was supposed to start at 10P. I got the car loaded and at 9:50, the deluge started. Arrgghh!

Will try to check them out tonight (looks clear so far).

Counted 5 with wife, amazing till got completely cloudy finally didn't hang for the lack of trees at the coast and weather made our star gazing very short. We gave up at 23:30 h local time.

tbctx and I hung last night on top of Winding Stair Mountain. We were treated to mild temps, a nice breeze, a lightning show over Arkansas, and even a few meteors. WIN!

Watched from the Cascade foothills Saturday night. Lost count of the meteors and the beers after a couple hours. Had a great time.
