    Sorry, Can't Make This ONE ! ! !

[QUOTE=samsara;786479]Sorry, no motorized vehicles but bicycles, horses, and olddogs/sherpas are ok

If you have a gps and are savvy enough to load external routes onto your gps then I can show you a shorter way in but you will be on your own if you have trouble navigating. Just let me know and we'll see what we can do

    Dave,

Sorry I can not make this one, but there will be others ,,talk to olddog he knows the reasons.

Ok, I have a web page for this hang on the shiny new FL Hangers web page. I will still post everything here but will include some updates on that page plus I will attach gps and/or Google Earth files to that page since I can't do that here.

Hoping a cooler-spell wanders through the area about then.

My last camping/hang was in February at the Sherpa hang, I'm long overdue! It will be good to see the gang again

*blows dust off of this thread*

Ok, I thought I would update everyone. I'll have a gps track of the trail up soon on the FL hangers web page. There is a lot of hog damage in the area where we'll be camping so if hogs spook you then maybe you shouldn't come

I'm pretty sure that we'll have water easily available from a seasonal pond next to the camping area. I'll have a cleanup project for us to do in the camping area (it's an old hunt camp site) that might be best to bring gloves if you've got them. It shouldn't be a huge amount of work but will help us clean the site. Also, and I don't think this will be a problem, we'll probably want one person to bring something to clip back a few branches and palmetto fronds.

I think we'll have no problem finding sites for everyone but some of the underbrush is pretty thick so we might be spread out (not a bad thing). It is about a 2.5 mile hike from where we'll park to the camp site. It will be mostly sugar sand but you'll probably also get your feet wet.

More later... work is still a bit overwhelming and I'll be going for a short breakcation on Friday until next Thursday. I hope my batteries are recharged and then I can get ready for this hang. I know I'm getting excited about it but I have a lot to do before I'm ready for the hang.

Figured that you had been busy, haven't heard much from you lately. Wasn't planning on the Sherpa but it could be used to haul gear in. I can bring limb loppers and machete.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

I'll have my little saw and maybe a small axe. I'm planning on being there Thursday night, if that's OK.
