Lost my tree . . . while in use.

Two trees were growing beside each other. As I look at this, it almost seems like it snapped below the soil line. Tree looked fine yesterday.

Wow! I don't see any big root ball as if it had overturned due to wet ground. Does the wood look rotten or eaten by bugs?

Wow indeed, that looks like a nice beefy and healthy tree. Truly frightening. Thanks for posting the pictures. Hopefully, people that know about trees will post their comments. You are very blessed to able to tell us the story; wow wow wow.

Here is a look at the backside of the tree. The wood is blackish there. Now I'm worried about the tree next to this one.

Good thing the tree did not hit you as you would have had to change your trail name to "Flat Pat"

A couple of years ago my wife and I were hanging in separate hammocks attached to a 4x4 post that broke. Not a fun experience.
