    Newbie learning the ways.

Hi all, I'm learning the hammock ways in Western Australia. I've had this idea of hammock camping for years now, and only 6 months ago realised there were other people already doing this apparently crazy activity. Everyone says I'm nuts for trying, but they've obviously never had the pleasure of a sleep in a hammock.

I, like many others, was led here finding Shug's videos. My first hammock hang was a few months ago, a touch cold--but I was ill equipped. I've been getting better equipped, and educated. Next weekend I'll be off again.

All the advice I have gained has been from Shug's videos so far .
I don't know anyone in the real life that has a hammock.. Let alone sleeps in one under the trees.
So no doubt, I'll be draining this forum for its resources, and might just put something back if I learn a gem or two on the way. I've already been eyeing off the DIY section. I needs to get my hands on a thread injector I think. I love that term by the way, thread injector...

Welcome from the Jersey Shore. Feel free to complain about shipping, customs and all the obstacles to getting the latest cool stuff from our American-based cottage vendors - everybody else does!
