    Cat Hammock in the Wild

I was in a thrift store yesterday and they happen to also adopt animals. Anyway, I spotted these Austin and Mack, relaxing in the best crib of all of them. If I had cats, I would totally make one of these!

I usually see these being sold for use in ferret cages - ferrets REALLY love hammocks, and being nocturnal creatures, they nap a lot during the day. Apparently, cats like them too

When I moved from GA to CO, I made a hammock that went between the sides of the cage, but it was a lot more taut than this one. They used it a lot during the long drive, though. I might be moving again soon, and I'll do something similar.

More comfort than two felines deserve.

That being said, I'm glad they have a better place than what was probably their last.

    Cats really do love hammocks

I test set up a WB Traveler in my living room and it didn't take my cat long to lay claim; she just loves it. Her entry into the hammock is a jump-straight-up belly-flop into the center. Exit is a roll over the edge-type maneuver; times the flip perfectly.

    Crappy phone camera pics:

The reddish hue in hammock is from an Exped Multimat stuck between the layers. After she discovered the joy of rooting around between the layers (think Bugs Bunny tunneling), and fear of damage, I switched it out for an old yoga mat. This keeps the hammock spread for entry dive.

What she looks like when not all fuzzy..... Good cat

Smart, beautiful cat. I can just see her rooting around between layers!

My kitten just liked to play with the slippery ripstop when I was making an over cover. She's mental.

When I put her in the hammock she freaked!
