what is the best way to whipp a gatherd end hammock that has a channel
What has worked best for me after trying every way I can think of is just threading the hammock end of my suspension through the channel and larks heading it on. By no means the only way to do it or the best way , it's just what way gives me the most comfortable lay.
I have a 11' x 90" table cloth hammock, the channel is very narrow, about a 1/4". I pulled a 12" continuous loop, amsteel 7/64, through there, it wasn't easy, and worked until it was pretty even and strung it up and loaded it with my big self to tighten the larks head up. End result is that there is not very much if any ridge down the center, and it lays pretty good. Just tried it out and will need some more hang time to reach much of a conclusion.
