Alas, Brian, I will be in Pennsylvania hiking on the Appalachian Trail, Oct 18-28th. So sorry I will miss all of y'all, but very happy to be hiking, knocking off AT miles, and enjoying a new state and fall temps and colors. I'll post pics after I get back.

Y'all don't have too much fun without me!

Even though I won't be able to make it due to my AT hike, I've been asked about directions and/or a map. Thought I'd share the link to the online NPS flyer ("bulletin")--
    Meriwether Lewis NPS Bulletin

At the end, there is a map of the national monument and campground. The group always hangs in the small red loop right next to the "tent" icon on the map.

If you're on the Natchez Trace Parkway, just head toward Mile Post 386.

Hope that helps. Y'all have fun without me, but remember, no pics = it didn't happen!

Friday night meal: Last time I think we ate around 6:30. I know some of you cook elaborate meals on Saturday so please let me know, no later than Wednesday, if and what you can bring for the Friday night meal. Here is what we need:

1 - Single burner, fuel tank, large skillet and lid if you have it. (we need 2 sets and I have 1.) I cook approx 2.5 lbs of hamburger, and I would say there are at least 12 servings of the potatoes.
    2 - Hamburger buns.
3 - I will bring Baba Ganoush if I have time to make it and I will bring chips with it.

I can bring the burner and fuel. I assume you mean a smaller "camping" style vs. the deep fryer type. I have that too if needed. I'll also grab some buns. I have to work out of town and will be camping while doing that before headed to the group hang. I don't have a clue what I would be able to bring for the Sat. thing so I could at least do this. I do have a skillet but no lid as well.
    It'll be alright Friday!

For what it is worth, I'll bring my BIG coffee pot to boil water for dishes, tea, instant coffee and I'm also bringing a lot of hot chocolate packets as I have too many at home with marshmallows. Bring your own mug.
