Thanks very much for all the supportive replies! It sounds like I should probably try a couple cold nights in the hammock in advance but it'll be great knowing I can bring extra stuff and others will have more equipment if needed.
The MAHHA sounds like fun, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get there. In any case I look forward to joining a group hang sometime soon!
I've been considering picking up a plastic sheet and making a larger tarp and/or some beaks for my 8.5 x 8.5 tarp. I guess if I can find some Tyvek, that would be better?

Well, in that case I can supply another canopy.

I have an KAQ UQ on the way so now I'm really looking forward to this trip. The last winter trip I did was in a lean-to with a piece of Tyveck, a foam pad and a 20* sleeping bag. Over night temp was 21*, the most comfortable weekend but fun.

I will be in Jersey now. All passed winter hangs I have wanted to attend but couldn't cause I was way out of state for college. But not this year! I am in!

Hip Hip Hooray NJ winter hang. Man cant believe this is going to be my fourth year, my how the time flies. By far my favorite hang of the year. Count me in.

Dylan glad your coming out of retirement looking forward to hanging with you as well as everyone else again new friends and old one alike.

I'll just need to borrow someones oxygen tang to summit Apple Pie Mt. It was a dozy last year. Man the air gets thin up their .
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

If Dylan is planning on coming out of retirement, I guess I will too.

I'm not sure if I can get enough training in before January to tackle Apple Pie Mountain.
