    Welcome to HF from NC!

As another newbie I can highly recommend you try to attend as many HF Group Hangs as possible. The people are great, friendly, helpful (just like on this forum) and you might get to see and try out a variety of gear as well.

I am hearing you guys clearly now. More UQ coverage is better. The Yeti is more of a 1/2 than a 3/4.

Would a 3/4, 40 degree TQ, perhaps with some overstuff, be more appropriate for AT April-Sept?
Now looking at the HG Phoenix 3/4 40 and the UGQ Zepplin 3/4 40.

I am willing to put on woolies and wrap my feet in my down sweater for those colder nights.

I hang year round with a Yeti; a Winter Yeti for winter and a 3-Season the rest of the time. I used the prototype Yeti on my 08 AT hike. Saw nighttime temps anywhere from single digits to triple digits. Yeti performed brilliantly! I had my reservations, no doubt. My feet were frostbitten many years ago and the lack of coverage concerned me. During my testing phase, I slept through the night only to discover the overnight low hit the -11°F mark. Never thought about the lack of coverage again and have since been down to -26°F with a Winter Yeti.
    Trust nobody!

Yeti is a great quilt. You could pair it with a Jacks R Better Stealth multi function quilt. rated at 40 degrees, I have pushed mine to 30. It can be a UQ, TQ or a sweater kinda thing lol
