Micro Line-Locs and other plastic hooks?

I'm trying to find another source for micro line locs. As recommended elsewhere on this forum, they can be found here: http://www.ultralightdesigns.com/pro.../microLoc.html.
The problem is I will pay more in shipping that the item costs. I would like to find them elsewhere so I can purchase some other stuff, and spread the shipping costs across several items.
I'm also looking for those little plastic hooks that are often preinstalled on tent rain flys.

My knife is so sharp it cut the sixth finger off my right hand! On the plus side, Inigo Montoya no longer hunts me.

I've used the line-locs for over a year on the ridgeline of my MacCat. Great for centering and tensioning. I've been using them on tent tie outs for years on a couple of my Hilleberg's. They work really well and I've never had a problem with one. The usual line I used them with is/was Spectra 2mm.

Have been using them at the ridge line and tie outs on a MacCat Deluxe Spinntex tarp. Makes for quick tarp set up. They are light, simple to use and so far have not failed. A few nights ago the wind gusts exceeded 30mph. The Micro line locks held up. Had to break camp in a freezing rain sleet mix. Nice not have to deal with any frozen knots. Ridgeline are ~2mm polyester, guy lines are 1.7mm Spectra.

I've had good luck with them also. But I think it depends on the type of line you use. I use the line-locs with the thin dacron guyline that ultralightdesigns sells. It's great for that and that's what I use on my smaller tarp. If you have something thicker, like Kelty triptease, (which I use on my larger tarp) then I find a good old taut-line hitch works great.

There is a thread titled Clamcleat Sources in the "Gear You're Looking For" section that has a lot of good info on where to get clamcleat/line locks. It started in July 2008, I think.

    taut line hitch

Last night I found out how to tie the taut line hitch. I read it is a friction knot and tried pulling on it to get it to slip, but it seemed to hold tight. I have yet to try it out on my tarp but I would think it would be easier and lighter to use than the line locs. Anyone have experience with this knot? I've also wondered how easy it is to undo the figure 8 stopper knot on the line loc to wrap it around trees and such or if there is a slot to slip it into and out of.
