    New ENO setup

I needed a tarp and didn't have sufficient funds to get one that was made for a hammock. So I took the rain fly from a dome tent and tried it(1st image). In the second image it doesn't really look like I have much space inside but my hammock sags when I sit down and I have plenty of room. In the 3rd image i took 2 quarters and stuck them into the fabric and tied a slip knot over them. I did the same with the ridge line. I got that idea from the link below. The ridge line is run under the tarp(image 4). I have an ENO double nest hammock(image 6). And in image 7 that is the pack down size compared to my 750 mL camelbak bottle. The entire set up weighs 2.3 pounds.

Also i need an uq for low 70s upper 60s and humid. Can anyone help??

Yeah would watch out for using a dome tarp for a hammock do you have a heavy duty tarp for a tent when you put it on the ground.

Be careful with using quarters for tie-outs. The somewhat sharp edges might do a number on coatings and fabric. It's an ingenious idea I've used a lot, though. My favorite is a smooth pebble and the weight usually helps.

    Happy hanging!

Have you tried it in the rain yet? I also have an ENO double nest and am in the process of adding to my hammock setup. I took it on a canoe trip in August and used a 2mm plastic drop cloth as a tarp, modeled after the one in this video:

It stormed heavily the second night, but the makeshift tarp kept me bone dry, however, it is much more bulky than tarps made for hammocks. Hopefully my next purchase will be a tadpole tarp from wilderness logics.

your hammock needs more sag when strung up, it will provide a better lay.. grip clips make great anchor points for your rain fly. jrb sells them as well as the original company.http://shelter-systems.com/gripclips/

Hey report back after your trip,ok? I've often wondered about using my old REI rain fly, would use it for a 2nd rig for friends if it works out.

ps. I like the rock and quarter ideas for pullouts/tieouts. I used Staples binder clips(outside)
and a stick(inside) when I was using Blue tarps.

For starters, try an old sleeping bag and try gathered end knots at the corners to bungies. Or figure out a converstion from the DIY posting crowd.
