    Dynaglide whoopies

For those of you that have changed to Dynaglide for your whoopie, how do you like them? Have you found any down sides? I know they are lighter, and that is neat but what have been the draw backs?

I made some new dynaglide whoopies Friday and used them Friday night and last night. I had also converted to Gizz's diamond knot setup, which I really do like. I'm just not sold on the dynaglide yet. The stickyness seeems to make them hard to adjust, and when done or if for some reason you have to adjust after hangin they do not seem to release easily. Have I done something wrong?

As far as the "No Hardware" setup Grizz has in his video, it seems to really work well. I tried the ridgeline as he shows but was not comfortable with using my 2.2 zing-it that way, it seemed very tight as it is really supporting the hammock. Other than that I love the setup.

    Hats off to Grizz!!

I'm hanging from dynaglide UCR's at 200# and relying on just diamond knots to hold it all together.

I have also gone to half straps like Grizz, but I'm unhappy with them. They stay up on the tree just fine when the hammock is loaded, but will easily slide down the tree when not loaded. A bit of breeze is enough to loosen them or a sloppy dismount

I'm using Dynaglide UCRs also. No problems so far, haven't been using them long though. I guess the major drawback is there is a lower weight limit with them.

Where do the diamond knots come into play MAD777?

After being on the slings for two nights it was very hard to get them to release. I had to work the outer section quite a bit to finally get them to slide. Maybe this will change with use. Also, the bury section was very ridged, not like amsteel at all. I may change my mind but I think I would used 7/64" amsteel with the 1/8" diamond knots next time. I have two extra sets of amsteel whoopies I may convert one.

With use the dynaglide whoopies will soften up considerably. No problems with mine.

An option, if you like the compactness and weight of dynaglide but don't like the color or waxy coating, is Endura-12. Same 12-strand braid. Essentially the same diameter. Essentially the same weight. No waxy coating. I personally like it better than dynaglide, but it is an aesthetic thing...

I have had my dynaglide Whoopies for about a year now and mine are still sticky after a lot of use. I don't mind it, but after a little experience, I like Amsteel better. It doesn't stick like dynaglide.

    re:

I have stopped using Dynaglide mainly because it scares me every time I hung in it. I'm 220 lbs probably at its rated limit. It never failed but for the little extra weight and piece of mind, Im back to Amsteel 7/64. Oh ya i swear the Dynaglide was slipping on me too.
