FLRider if it looks like you're going to make it and you're on your bike swing by Lakeland and we'll do the last leg togeather. Either me on the handle bars or you and gear in the truck.

    Thank'ee for the offer.

I might just take you up on that; it's only about twenty more miles than the Hike & Hang was this year, looking at Google Maps. That'd put me in the 120 to 130 mile day range...I don't know if I have that in me, but I'd like to find out some time.

Though, considering that my 97-mile day had me coming just after dark, I might have to leave before dawn in order to get there in time...

Not sure that I'd trust google maps. From the south side of Lakeland I'm 35 miles to Richloam and mapquest shows 3 options to Frostproof from the house between 43 and 43.99 miles. Maybe I can just meet you half way. plenty of time to work that out.

Thanks! We'll figure it out, for certain.

And, thanks. Thanks a lot. I appreciate the generosity of everyone here, but you really go above and beyond, olddog.

    Sling Me Up

I'll be there this year for the weekend instead of the couple hour visit I had last year. I have a couple of friends that are ground dwellers, is it okay if they come along?

Is this the site by the creek in the Arbuckle Forest?

    For some planning information:
    Last year's planning thread
    Last year's trip report
The planning documents web page for the hang

It will be the weekend of February 22-24, 2013. At the moment this is primarily a "Save the date" post but once we get closer (probably after the big FL hang in January) I'll get it going so that we can start planning all of the details. This hang will have lots of details to plan

I think it will be easiest to just plan to have the annual sherpa hang on the last weekend in February. That will make pre-planning easier, you will always know when this hang will be conducted

The Arbuckle Tract on the Lake Wales Ridge State Forest near Frostproof Florida (central FL). If you do a search in Google Earth for "Rucks Dairy Rd Frostproof FL" then it will take you to where we will be parking.

Well, crud. It looks like the homecoming game is going to be at noon. Which means that our rush at work is going to be in the middle of my shift. I'm going to have to miss this one.

Sorry, folks. I hope to see the lot of youse at the Third Annual Hang, though.

In February?? We'll give you a pass for Grinder's Birthday bash, but keep working on this one!
