    Hello from South Carolina

Hello everyone, I'm from the northern part of South Carolina or as we call it the Upper Piedmont. I've been a hanger off and on since high school. I started out with an old jungle hammock, the kind with the canvas bottom, bug net and tarp built into one.

Well anyway I didn't get back into the swing until recently when my wife and her friend started making hammocks from ripstop and paracord. A Geocaching friend of theirs taught them how. I got interested in the ripstop material and the cheap availability of it. I started to improve the designs and experimenting (my wife has four hammocks and counting so far). I've enjoyed lurking on this site and the wealth of information it has to offer. Right now I'm making an all-in-one setup for my hiking buddy (compression bag, snakeskins, SLS, double ripstop and maybe a tarp). My wife has a very nice Brother sewing machine and Serger that I use. Those were some frustrating tools to learn but I think I'm up to amateur level on my best days.

So anyway, it's good to be here.

Welcome aloft from a fellow S. Carolinian. (Modoc) Good luck with your DIY projects. I wish I could get to mine, but no room and no time at the moment.
