    You can kinda make it work but IMO it is always better to tie to the trees. I like my tarp nice and tight and tensioners won't make it that tight.

    I second that ..if it ain't tight ..it ain't right ..

    I've been using Dutch's StingerZ now for several months .. I like them better for a few reasons .. 1. the working antenna is well above the hook 2. it doesn't try to invert itself at all. 3. if you want a really low tarp {run just above the RL} the StingerZ allows this by creating a wide "V" that allows the hammock suspension to run through the middle of the "V" {for bottom entry Hennessy's this is the perfect set-up}

    I use 25' lengths on each end .. just to have what I need on hand in the same place

    The only other set-up is with Dutch's hooks and a prussic attached to the tarp ..one on each end .. this is a single line set-up {no"V"} I use it on a UL poncho/tarp set-up that the tarp suspension line remains above the hammock tree huggers ..

    If you ain't Dutch ..'ya ain't much ...

    sorry to gravedig here, but Im considering getting some stingerz but don't think I have any zing-it. In lieu of buying more, could I use 7/64" amsteel?

    EDIT: nevermind I think i figured it out.
