triangle at the head spreader is large due to the longer spreader bar, if you removed the 4" section permenently you'd probaly be safef shortening the triangle but i wouldn't recommend doing that AND using full length head spreader

large triangle at the foot end is long mainly to increase stability, that one could be reduced without worring about forces on the spreader but keep in mind stability would decrease some

Something to note about the ridgerunner that I haven't seen anyone mention is that because the walls are so shallow and the hammock so stable, it makes it extremely easy to just roll over and pee this is really a great thing for winter!

Just don't forget which side you took your shoes off.

I took mine out last weekend for a short trial run, I liked it. I don't think it will replace my wbbb but its another option at least. I did not like the JRB bridge because of the shoulder squeeze but the rr has no shoulder squeeze at all for me. If I had to come up with something I didn't like, it would be that I seemed to have less options on where to set it up. That is just due of the need for more distance between tress, but thats almost irrelevant. For now it seems like it's a good car camping option but I cant imagine myself carrying the extra weight and poles while hiking.

It took me only five minutes of laying in my WBRR to fall in love with it. Thanks Brandon your hammock never cease to amaze me. Now back to the back yard to test out my Hammock Gear quilts on it and take some pics.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
