    Reintroducing myself (name change)

Formally went by my real name "davesimon" but had Troll change me to this handle.

    Why? Glad you asked...

I wanted something that still had a connection to my name but also reflected a bit of who I am, my Montana heritage. So I took my name - Dave - and combined it with Montana's most (in)famous hangers, the Vigilantes. "Dave" + "Vigilante" - Boom, Davigilante was born.

I am a fourth generation Montanan and I take a lot of pride in my home state. I love to study our history. Part of that history is the Montana Vigilantes - heroes and villains in one. Their simple message "3-7-77" could strike fear into the baddest of bad guys.

I'm more interested in a peaceful and restful form of hanging.

    Welcome again!
I got in a fight one time with a really big guy, and he said, "I'm going to mop the floor with your face." I said, "You'll be sorry." He said, "Oh, yeah? Why?" I said, "Well, you won't be able to get into the corners very well."

Davigilante -- hey, it suits you!

Love the Steinbeck tagline, btw, though I've never been to Montana. Have spent some time in Idaho, though ...

Can you describe your setup in MT? Looks like I may be moving out there pretty soon. I'm waiting on my current setup to arrive but I've got a WBBB 1.7 dbl and a 20*F Incubator coming in along with a Superfly.

How many months out of the year do you hammock? I hope you don't mind the questions

Nikki - I just got into hammocks a few weeks ago, but I know there are a few months a year it'd be pretty cold in one!

I just was camping in the Tetons and it was low 30s/upper 20s overnight. I'm a warm sleeper so I did ok with a cheap synthetic bag, Hyalite Designs pad, a small nylon & fleece emergency blanket and a tarp in my Kammok - double layered with a second Kammok hung below it.

I've seen snow fly in town (read: not in the mountains) every month of the year except August (that I can remember.) So plan for some cold winter data even in September or May!

Where under the Big Sky do you plan to hang?

Welcome again with the cool name change! I like the story and Montana just went up a notch if snow flies in all but one month. Lucky, lucky. I love snow!
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.
