    UL tree strap Question

Can someone link me to the discussion about using a small piece of webbing just on the backs of the trees for tree straps. Grizz talks about this in his UL bridge video stating Dutch was doing it. Would like to see how people are doing this, so if someone has pic please post. Thanks

    Here is my version:

Back to back diamond knots on the main suspension line.
28" length (incl. loops) of 900# webbing (Advanced Auto Parts)
Two 14" long line with fixed eyes on each end.
Solomon bars on the fixed loops that connect to the diamond knots.
    All Dynaglide.

I should add that I'm not happy with the half-strap as I have implemented it. When loaded, the strap hugs the tree just fine. However, the straps slip down the tree if the hammock is unattended and a breeze moves the hammock. Also, mounting and dismounting must be done gingerly or the straps slide.

Pretty cool! Now can you link me to how to tie those diamond knots on a straight line and how to tie solomon bar. BTW do those solomon bars hold?

There are several YouTube videos you can search for diamond knot. It's easy to tie as many diamond knots along a line in series as you want.

The Solomon bars don't support any load. They simply keep the loop from opening up and releasing the diamond knot.

Let me just make sure of something, The Dynaglide attached to the webbing is not adjustable correct? Does that limit you as per the size of tree you hang from?

    That's it! You got it!

My total suspension (both ends) is barely under 2-1/2 ounces.
BTW, I'm using UCR's, not whoopies, in this setup.

Size wise, I can go around a 18"'diameter tree, which is the what I had been doing with full strap plus whoopies.

Florida Hang 3 (FH3)? Wouldn't miss it for the world!!
