    Made to order Whoopie ridgeline

    OK, I got the Claytor set up with a whoopie ridgline, but the only rope I had around to test with was 3/8 amsteel.

    So now I need a whoopie for a ridgeline that adjust from 90 to 120 inches. I want it made of 7/64 amsteel.

    I checked Whoopieslings.com, hammockgear.com and arrowheadequipment.com - none seem to have what I'm looking for.

    Anyone else out there making made to order whoopie ridgeliones?

    whoopieslings dot com has what you're looking for, just made from 2.2mm cording instead of 7/64". Using smaller diameter cording has become more popular for things like ridgelines, where they don't require the strength of the larger cord.

    I bet any of the vendors you mentioned would be happy to make exactly what you're looking for though.

    None of them has what I want (specifically 7/64 amsteel preferably black), and I didn't see any way to order a specific one other than the stock products.

    I was kind of implying that you could contact any of them directly, and they'll help you out. They all do custom orders on request.

    smokebait = whoopieslings.com
    stormcrow = hammockgear.com
    pgibson = arrowheadequipment.webs.com

    You could also order the 7/64 Amsteel and make the woo pie yourself. It's so easy a caveman could do it.

    The funny thing is that i made 3 sets of whoopies about 2 years ago. Two from 7/64, and one from 1/8 amsteel, in addition to the 3/16 whoopie I made to use for my dog (which is the one I used to test the ridgeline.)

    But I've ruined several lengths of 1/8 and 7/64 amsteel the last few weeks trying to make more whoopies - I seem to have lost the touch. I keep snagging the strands and compromising the rope.

    But, I just checked one of the pairs I had made two years ago. That was the first pair I made and they are 10' long. So I'll use one on each of my claytors for ridglines and then just order a shorter pair from one of the cottage industry guys.

    So here is how it turned out.

    The ridgeline in this pick is at 108 inches:
